I have a huge shawl-sized scarf which is nice when I need it but awkward for everyday use. This I can fold up and put in my pocket. (This part of California is decidedly not warm. It's currently 47 F and raining, typical for winter.) Feather and Fan is a really basic lace pattern with many variations. It looks good in variegated yarn because you get the wavy design in the stripes for pretty much no effort. In a solid dark color it's all texture.
